From January of 2009 to March 2011, the Transportation Planning and Programming Division (TPP) of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) sponsored a comprehensive set of travel surveys in the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) study area, located in Nueces and San Patricio counties of South Texas. The purpose of the surveys was to collect data and information needed as input to the Corpus Christi MPO travel demand model for this two-county study area.
Three different types of origin-destination travel surveys were conducted in the Corpus Christi area, including a household survey, a work place survey, and a commercial vehicle survey. The household survey collected data on the amount and characteristics of travel generated by households within the area.
